No index pandas
Data with no index. Do you notice the leftmost column? It is auto-generated index column, because pandas always tries to optimize every dataset it handles, so it generated. However, that auto-generated index field starts from 0 and unnamed. We need to update it. It can be done by manipulating the DataFrame.index property. If you want no index, read file using: import pandas as pd df = pd.read_csv('file.csv', index_col=0) save it using . df.to_csv('file.csv', index=False) index bool, default True. Write row names (index). index_label str or sequence, or False, default None. Column label for index column(s) if desired. If None is given, and header and index are True, then the index names are used. A sequence should be given if the object uses MultiIndex. Note. The Python and NumPy indexing operators [] and attribute operator . provide quick and easy access to pandas data structures across a wide range of use cases. This makes interactive work intuitive, as there’s little new to learn if you already know how to deal with Python dictionaries and NumPy arrays. Column(s) to use as the row labels of the DataFrame, either given as string name or column index. If a sequence of int / str is given, a MultiIndex is used. Note: index_col=False can be used to force pandas to not use the first column as the index, e.g. when you have a malformed file with delimiters at the end of each line.
If no index is passed, then by default, index will be range(n), where n is the array length. Example 1. Live Demo. import pandas as pd data = {

pandas.DataFrame.reset_index Reset the index of the DataFrame, and use the default one instead. If the DataFrame has a MultiIndex, this method can remove one or more levels. Parameters level int, str, tuple, or list, default None. Only remove the given levels from the index. Removes all levels by default.
